For the last 20 years we have been bombarded with images of action heroes from Superman, Rambo, Terminator, Spiderman, Batman, Aquaman, Ironman, Daredevil, The Incredible Hulk …. and so on and so forth ….. etc …. etc …. and bla, bla, bla, bla!
Well …. I have news for all of you …. You are NOT a superhero! The only enemies in your life are fictional and they are in your head. Your greatest enemy in life is your selfish, narcissistic self, so if you want to identify the enemy, just take a long hard look in the mirror.
The only way to defeat that enemy is to spend less time taking selfies to upload on Instagram, spend less money on trendy clothes that you don’t need, and stop obsessing on how muscular your body is.
Try to stand out for how big and generous your heart is, and not how big your breasts or bum are.
Contrary to popular media … the human body is very fragile so it is much easier to hurt or kill, unlike 90% of American action movies, than it is to cure and look after those who are weaker.
Another reason why America does not have a good public healthcare system, as it only cares about «survival of the fittest».
Spend more time developing your emotional intelligence by trying to better understand and help those other human beings around you.
If you have a skill that you believe could improve the quality of life of others by making a contribution to society, then give it all your time and energy and it will pay back, tenfold.
However, if your only ambition is to be superficially admired by others, then the reward you seek will be as hollow as your heart.
Nobody owes you anything, in fact you owe your entire existence to the rest of humanity, even more so than your parents and family.
All the food, medicine, technology and infrastructure that surrounds you, was created by other human beings, thousands of years before, during and since you were born.
If it wasn’t for science you would still be sleeping in a cave during freezing cold winters, dying of thirst and hunger.
So don’t forget to give a big thank you to the rest of humanity every time you look at the screen of your phone, catch a plane or simply sit down and fill your stomach with food.
